Toddler Day Out

The popular free event attracting over 6,000 people made an effort to encourage smokefree messages, reduce the number of sugary drinks, and provide healthier food options for sale throughout the day.
Held at Massey Community Centre, the food trucks provided healthy options and sold bottled water to families attending the event and any smokers were encouraged to smoke out of sight of any children.
The event was organised by Violence Free Communities who also encouraged stall holders to supply non-food items as giveaways and apples were available for free at stalls. Volunteers handed out apples, smokefree balloons and alcohol free awareness bands which ensured consistent messaging throughout the event.
