West Auckland Tutor from Edvance Workplace Training has switched from biscuits and juice during breaks to providing fruit, vegetables and water.
Learners in the course, held at Rutherford College, embraced the change as its suits their own personal pursuits to be healthy. Tutors in other centres throughout the country will be challenged to make similar changes in their classes.
The cost of providing healthier snacks was also significantly cheaper with no food wastage - another benefit for the organisation.
