The Pacific Health Academy (one of six in Auckland and the only one in West Auckland) at Waitakere College have been supporting their school to make healthy changes that will help improve and enhance the health and well-being of students.
One of their projects is to help increase the quality and quantity of water fountains within their school in an effort to decrease the intake of sugar sweetened beverages.
Their efforts supported an application to senior management to install a brand new water fountain to encourage students to drink more water.
The Academy held a mufti day 'Run/Walk for Water' fundraiser in conjunction with their school cross country. Money raised will help fund more water fountains within their school.
Our Activator Sophia Bloomfield supported the students with their research and plans to continue water promotion in the school.
