Kelston Boys High School held a 'Walk for Water' fundraiser where the whole school walked a 3km route around Kelston to raise funds for a water fountain.

For the past 6 months, Kelston Boys High School have been highlighting the vision and values of the school through drinking water. The slogan 100% Kelston 100% Tap Water has been taken on board by all students and staff.  

Water bottles with unique branding have been given to new Year 9 students and their families in the lead up to this event. Teachers also received a water bottle to be positive role models to students. Each premier sports team received water bottles to ensure our athletes were not only positive role models, but displaying our school identity every time the represent the school on the sports field.

The school fundraised for the water bottles by cutting down gorse, which allowed the students to experience hard work and learn that volunteering is part of being a good citizen.

The water fountain has also been branded with the school values and two Kelston Boys High School old boys volunteered their time to install it in the main courtyard of the school.

Healthy Families WaitakereSettings Coordinator Tu Nuualiitia supported the school in their efforts to encourage students to choose water as the best choice of drink.
