Healthy Conversation Skills is a Ministry of Health funded professional development for healthcare professionals. The PD provides simple and effective ways to discuss healthy food choices and physical activity opportunities with patients.

It was fitting that our Healthy Families Waitakere Activator Regina Wypych connected with Healthy Start Workforce Project who deliver the PD to bring this professional development to early childhood teachers and stakeholders.

Around 17 early childhood teachers and stakeholders attended the workshop held at Waitemata Rugby Club to learn new skills on how to engage with parents and whanau.

University of Auckland research showed a need for more professional development opportunities for early childhood educators. This workshop is one of many workshops Regina has coordinated to educate and inform teachers about healthy food and physical activity.
